Weque has perfected a golf link club and elected Dr. Wm. H. M. Curtis, President; G.W. Brown, Secretary; Wm. Lloyd, Treasurer. They have rented the Blackbird farm and are making every improvement necessary to make the links perfect.
September 1 1896Weque Golf Club in a lengthy formal application requested a lease for additional grounds for the club for use as a "golf links" from the Directors of the Wequetonsing Association. More specifically, "to clear land between the present golf grounds on the west and Brower property on the East.
September 6, 1901The President Mr. C.M. Bradley was authorized to buy all or the interest of any one heir of the Brower property lying North of the Harbor Springs and Petoskey highway, approximating 40 acres. This property is the east section of the current golf course.
October 14, 1920Mr. C.M. Bradley authorized by unanimous vote hired Robert Foulis to lay out and re-arrange the entire golf course. Robert collaborated with his brother James, both played in early U.S. Opens, with James winning the second U.S. Open in 1896. Robert came to the U.S in 1895 at the request of Charles B. Macdonald and helped design and was the first golf professional at Lake Forest CC, which today is part of Onwentsia Club.
October 14, 1920From 1920 to 1927 major changes were made to the layout of the course. New holes were created on the east section of the property. Holes on the west section of the property were renumbered and a couple were reversed from tee to green. The golf course remained unchanged from 1927 until new tee boxes were created on 5 and 18 (Reynold's Revenge).
